How to pass this “Port 80″ step?

0
Hello,   I have gone through part of installation then the annoying section of installation comes up and keep asking to stop the app/service using port 80! Anyway, I stopped IIS, I stopped Skype and yet no idea why this keep saying “Port 80 being used”. What do you suggest I do?   It is super annoying …   Thanks, Amit

Could you try to reboot? Windows is telling the installer that the port 80 is not free. We are also aware that the port should be chosen in the installation wizard.

Yes I have done all the possible ways that I know such as rebooting running netstat to see which app/service is using port 80 stopping Skype stopping IIS   it is not the solution. Currently, the only service is using port 80 is "NT Kernel and System". how can I stop this? :)   any idea?

Which version of Windows are you running?

Take a look at your services. If Web Deployment Agent Service is running stop it. Web Deploy uses port 80.

Not everyone can disable the services that use port 80 for various reasons. My issue was as soon as IIS was disabled, Commvault would steal port 80. I disabled that, then SQL Server got it. Disabled that, and Symantec Antivirus stole it. And the worst part was Symantec Antivirus cannot be stopped since it will auto restart if terminated. This caused a bigger headache than it needed to be. Its great this issue is being looked into and I look forward to evaluating your software soon.
